Mrs D
You are a bit behind in your deadlines Callum. Make sure you catch up over half term. I really like your storyboard. You have thought about the camera shots and the structure works really well. I'm impressed. Make sure you think about the pace as all the shots seem to be the same length at the minute.

Pitch Feedback
The feedback after my pitch was generally very good they said it was a unique story line and different in the way it is a boy and not a girl. Some concerns were though that it may be hard to create suspense and scary moments if the scarer/killer rarely features in the trailer however i am confident that i can create a tense atmosphere within the location so that the viewer/audience feel that when they are watching it.
Final Storyline
The shadow will be a horror filmed which targets people who like horror films of ages 15 and above. The way i mainly hope to appeal to these ages are to make my horror trailer seem different to others of its type i am doing this by using a boy instead of a girl which challenges codes and conventions.
The story line will start with a boy saying bye to his parents who have just left to go on holiday for the next week, the boy is enjoying the sense of freedom and relaxing and goes out one day to visit his grandparents. While he is eating he is talking to the granddad and this is when the audience find out that they use to live in the house before their parents however they moved out and allowed their son to have it for his family. This is followed by the granddad telling a story about how he his wife had to move out on the 31st of October every year as strange things would happen. The boy leaves after thinking the granddad was joking and pulling his leg when that night a glass falls off the cabinet and smashes the boy then grabs his old camera and charges it waiting for October the 31st which turns out to be a eventful night. The trailer ends with cuts of feet walking sloweley towards the camera which is lying on the ground and then it goes to narrative titles saying "The Shadow" "Coming Soon". During these title their will be heavy breathing and at the end you will see the family coming back seeing the camera playing on the TV and a shot of the family gasping in horror. This will provide a element of suspense and i hope it will encourage people to watch the whole movie.

Production development
This year in my production work i typed up each of the tasks and made 2 lists under the headings things i can do at home and things i can do in college. Different elements of the planning tasks may have meant that they came under both. For example the test shots and location ideas can be done at home but to present them on youtube that would need to be done at college as the technology to do so is here. This has really helped me get a grip on the planning side and helped me work out what my final trailer will be

Trailers that have inspired me
Paranormal activity
This trailer influenced me because of its unique way of hiding what is scaring people, what i mean by this is that the way this trailer scares you doesn't show what it is until the very end and i am hoping to incorporate this element of the Paranormal activity 4 trailer into my own. The location it is filmed in is also the same as what i am hoping to film the majority of my trailer in which is a house setting this is why it influenced me as it helped me understand what sort of angles to use whilst filming in this environment.

This trailer has the same location style i want to use which is in a house, this differs in the way it influences me comparing it to paranormal activity as the types of scares used in this are effective. They use certain scares to scare this audience which is what i like, it is not just the same type over and over again the use of suspense with breathing and footsteps is also what i like when watching this trailer.
Apartment 1303
This has the same location a house and only one character which is what i like about this however this is a female and my character will be a male to challenge the codes and conventions of a real media artifact. I like the way the director doesn't at any point show the killer or scarer in this trailer and lets it be a shadow in the background this was the inspiration for the title of my movie. They suggest things but never tell which is what i like about this as it keeps the audience/viewer interested in the trailer and make them watch the movie.
